Welded Profiles

Tecnoal Welded Profiles are large-size aluminum heat sinks obtained by joining extruded profiles using Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technology. This process allows the creation of monolithic structures with high mechanical integrity, while maintaining excellent thermal conductivity across the entire heat sink surface.

FSW technology enables the joining of profiles without the use of filler material, ensuring a structurally uniform joint, free from significant thermal discontinuities and suitable for withstanding high mechanical stresses. This solution is particularly suitable for applications requiring high thermal performance over large surfaces.

Tecnoal Welded Profiles are used in large industrial systems, such as traction applications, power converters, drives, and high power density equipment, where heat dissipation is a critical design factor. The ability to combine multiple profiles allows the realization of geometries and volumes that are difficult to achieve with conventional extruded solutions.
